和弓自古以竹為材，竹子與弓道的關係密不可分；
「竹」又是君子的象徵，有節故而能立，其枝彎而不折，乃柔中有剛；
「久」則是希望台灣弓道能長久發展，也期許這間弓道場能歷久彌新，故名為「竹久弓道場」。

「竹」Take, or Bamboo, has always been an integral part of the Kyudo traditions. Not only being used as material to make bows and arrows, it also symbolizes the characteristics of a gentleman: integrity, tolerant and resolute.
The word,「久」Hisa or continuing, is chosen in the best wishes of people that Kyudo will take root and prosper again in Taiwan. Moreover, this new kyudojo, the first of its kind established after 1945, will stand to the testimonial of time.
Hence, the name is Takehisa kyudojo (竹久弓道場)
